Description
The expressions and contortions of the horses on a carousel bring feelings of agony and despair in this series of Carousel of Despair. Processed with a strong black and white film noir contrast.
Even as a child I would not ride a carousel, as the horses always appeared to be locked in a state of discomfort. I have ridden on a carousel as an adult with my own children only to feel disturbed and uncomfortable with all these suffering animals surrounding me.

Such an insightful series...You've shown that a children's ride can be viewed in a much more complex way.

A unique and amazing twist on a popular carnival ride. Well done series, Jamie.

This addition to the gallery really seems to have captured the feeling of being trapped and desperate with the view of freedom but no way out!
