Artist's Description
The famed Oyster Bar Restaurant within New York City's iconic Grand Central Station.
Grand Central Terminal stands as one of America's greatest transportation hubs, and one of New York City's most iconic buildings. It is both a national institution and an international example of giving new life to a historic building rather than demolition and reconstruction. Over the course of a colorful and tumultuous 100-year history, Grand Central has gone from being simply the beginning and terminating point of long-distance rail travel, to being the iconic home of Metro-North Railroad and a destination for commuters, tourists and residents. Grand Central boasts restaurants, cocktail lounges, a gourmet market, and numerous specialty shops. (information provided from www.mta.info)

About James Aiken
James currently lives and works in the New York City area, a far cry from a childhood in the splendors of rural Vermont. An unabashed introvert, James enjoys observing all that surrounds him without feeling the need to be an integral part of the proceedings. His goal as an artist is to express the remarkable within the familiar and ordinary, through critical examination and contemplation of the subject, without alteration of the scene... ...And sometimes he just gets lucky by being in the right place at the right time. PLEASE NOTE: - The 'Fine Art America' watermark that is present on each image will NOT appear on the finished print. %
